Dear Lincoln Families,
Welcome to the 2010-2011 Academic Year at Lincoln International Academy of the Holy Family. Last year we all received many blessings and we will continue to pray for a new and great academic year. As part of LIA´s ongoing School Strategic Plan (SSP 2008-2011) and as an AdvancED (SACS) and MINED accredited school, the Administrative Team at Lincoln is focused on improving the school systems to provide a solid foundation for continuous improvement in the following practices:
-
Provide an integral education to all students based in the teachings of the Catholic faith
-
Improve the quality of the teaching process focused on student learning
-
Support the school´s vision and purpose through effective leadership
-
Provide quality information to all stakeholders
-
Enforce policies and practices that foster and sustain improvement
-
Use resources and support systems to sustain LIA´s goals for student learning
In order to accomplish the above, this year´s School Improvement Plan (SIP 2010-2011) includes six goals in order to improve student learning and school effectiveness:
1. Integrate technology in the classroom.
2. Promote the use of English language on campus.
3. Continue to use data to improve the teaching and learning process.
4. Continue to encourage Learner-Centered Teaching (LCT) in all classrooms.
5. Continue to implement the “Catholic Virtues in Action” plan.
6. Accomplish the objectives of the “LIA Goes Green” campaign.
At LIA, the Administrative Team guides and assists the faculty in order to provide all students with the necessary educational, religious, and moral values of an integral education. We strive to support our students in accomplishing these goals and becoming the best person he or she can be. To be successful in this venture, not only do we rely on your support, but we must all work together for the advancement of the school system and the students.
We invite you to visit LIA and see for yourself all the new changes and improvements; Middle school and interactive classrooms are just some of them. As you know, the school began the middle School project three years ago with the changes in the discipline system. Last year, hanges were made for the grading system. We are very happy to inform you that from now on, the Middle School (6th-8th grade) will have its own classrooms and its own schedule different from the rest of the school, and will be administered by a new Middle School Coordinator.
May God inspire and guide all of us this 2010-2011 academic year!
Sincerely,
Adolfo J. Gonzalez-General Director
